Resale stores are usually not the way to go for more money in return, they have employees to pay, space to rent, etc Would likely do better on fb marketplace or ebay, but will probably take more time and effort that way. I sold a couple rare minifigs to them and left happy It was less than i could get selling them myself, but they have to make money too
So getting like 80% of the value was a good deal to me.

Like u/jauntyturtle said, they have to inventory it, replace missing parts, make a profit, and sell it at a price people will buy it at Think of it like a regular pawn shop, you're paying for the convenience of offloading all your lego inventory to one buyer and getting paid. Bricks and minifigs is about the same At best you'll get maybe 1/4 the current value of the sets, which will probably be under what you paid for them originally
If you just want to get rid of sets quick with little effort and little return for you go with bricks and minifigs
